I’m humbled and honored to be elected to the Board of Emerge. I’m joining such dedicated people as David Adams, Susan Cayouette, Barry Nolan, Sarah Cortes, Norah Wylie, Albert Pless, Ester Serra Luque, Carol Thompson, and the rest of the great staff and volunteers of Emerge.
Founded in 1977, Emerge was the first abuser education program in the United States. Since its creation, Emerge has been a national leader in working to end violence in intimate relationships.
Working with Emerge over the past few years made me think hard about my own beliefs about abuse, victims, and the cycle of violence. Their work has inspired past blog posts such as Abusers, Technology, and Akido, and Learning about Abusers.
I look forward to a bright future with Emerge.
