Thoughts and Articles on Electric Bikes

Here’s a few articles I’ve been reading lately on electric bikes and their ability to change the world far more than electric cars. A challenge is that this requires infrastructure changes to happen; such as protected bike lanes, local charging points, and people to adapt to bike riding. Electric bike sharing systems will quietly, but radically, transform ridership and the cities in which they exist. Instead of buying a $2,000+ bike, you can rent them 30-60 minutes at time. Rather than buying a new bike, I personally like upgrading existing bikes with electric wheels; for example, SuperPedestrian, Electron, and others. Nothing flattens the hills of San Francisco on the cheap like the Jump electric bikeshare.
